The book market is closing in Van Burton, the first town in Nevada to be shut down after it was forced to shutter on January 9, 2019 due to a severe winter storm.

The city of Van Burton had closed all bookstores and bookshops on January 1, 2019 after it received the worst winter storm in the state’s history.

Vanderburgh is located on the outskirts of Las Venenos, Nevada and was forced into a shutdown after the city was hit with a severe cold weather that caused its streets to freeze over and snow piled up on sidewalks.

The shuttered city was forced out of its downtown area and into the Van Burton city limits.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the VanBurntOWN book store remained open, according to Facebook user @TheBookboulevard.

“I had a blast in VanBurn and hope that it brings a little more excitement back to our community,” the post reads.

The VanBurptOWN bookshop is located at the corner of Van Burren Avenue and North West Street.

It opened in December of 2017.

In December, the city of Las Cruces closed its bookstores after a severe blizzard forced the closure of downtown areas and businesses.
